We provide teacher support for iSCORE in many ways, including online materials and face-to-face professional meetings.
But before you can use iSCORE and the user guide, you need to have an account!
In the fall of 2013, the account creation and login processes were revised. To help with this process, we have created two flow charts, one to help students and the other to assist teachers. Download the student information and teacher information here.
A great way to learn about iSCORE is to sign up for a face-to-face teacher workshop or webinar. All of our workshops and webinars are led by studio teachers who use iSCORE in their own teaching. Please email [email protected]. for more information about workshops in your area. Or check the RCM webpage for upcoming workshops. You can also access the slide show that is used for our face-to-face professional training sessions by pressing this link for the English version: iSCOREWorkshop_20131022 or this link for the French version: iSCOREWorkshop_20131018_FR2. We also have a YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/
The most comprehensive print resource, designed especially for iSCORE teachers, is called Making Music with iSCORE. The Manual can be ordered directly from Amazon. And there are many tools to support teachers embedded directly in iSCORE under the “FILES” tab including articles and videos (in English and French) that introduce the underlying theory for iSCORE.
You will also find ideas on this website under iSCORE iDEAS. These include tips on setting up the Home page and ways of using iSCORE to support student learning.
You may also find the lesson templates helpful—again, these are under the “FILES” tab when you’re logged into your iSCORE account. Lesson templates include suggestions for identifying tasks and goals, planning strategies, using audio recordings, using video recordings, helping students reflect, and providing sharing and feedback.
iSCORE Teachers Support Other iSCORE Teachers…
Sometimes the best kind of teacher support can be from other teachers working with iSCORE. Check this website regularly for Julia Fountain’s blog.
